Cheryl and Jeff’s Puerto Vallarta Trip

We just returned from Puerto Vallarta on Saturday, March 11.  It was a wonderful trip and the weather was great.

To all the wonderful people we met along our Journey, (the girls, Terry, Randy, Boris, Ken, and all the names I forgot) I have a request, when I went to put our pictures on a disk, I lost all 120+ pictures.  If you could e-mail me any of your favorite or any pictures you may have taken of Jeff and me, could you email them to me.  I would be so Thank-full!!

This was our 1st trip to the Puerto Vallarta area.  We decided to go all-inclusive.  We stayed at a small hotel in Nuevo Vallarta called Villa Varadero.  It is a quiet hotel (everything closes at 11pm), near the south end of Marina Village Paradise.  It is a very basic all-inclusive all food is served buffet and is very Mexican, all beverages are included.  They did offer free use of bogie boards and Kayaks.  We found the rooms and public area very clean, the hotel went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.  The pool is small but refreshing (not heated), but we enjoyed it.  The beach is very large and beautiful, with nice sand.  It is lined with new papalas.  There was never a shortage of beach chairs.  There isn’t any beverage service on the beach or pool area, but the bar is only a few steps away.

For all our friends and family who have traveled with us before, you now how hard it is for us to leave the beach.  You will be pleased to know we went on two adventures.  We spent on day in downtown PVR.  We took a bus to town; we got out at the 1st stop and explored some of the hotels in the hotel zone.  Puerto Vallarta is a very large resort area.  I wanted to spend more time on looking at hotels, but they are spread apart and a taxi would have been needed for a day to even see a small portion of them.  We spent the rest of our time in town just walking and enjoying the sights, music, and art of some of the local people.  We ended eating at Hooters, I know not very Mexican, but Jeff enjoyed it.  After lunch we did more exploring and decided to take a taxi back to out hotel.

Our next adventure was an exciting whale watching tour.  We ended up on a small boat (water Taxi); it could hold up to 25 people.  We got really lucky and it was just Jeff and me and the boat driver and guide.  It was a slow start to the day, but the whales ended up giving us a great show.  They are amazing!  I highly recommend a trip!

We also spent a morning at Dolphin Adventure.  We didn’t participate, but there is an area to observe.  The cost runs from $60.00 for an encounter and $120 to swim with the Dolphins.  The also offer different programs.  I may give it a try the next time we have the opportunity.

All in all we had a great trip!  We met some wonderful people!  Thank-you Boris, Jeff likes to play the long version of Backgammon.  Now I have someone to play with!   Girls from St. Louis, please let me know how our accident victim is!  Everyone we met made our trip the best!  Thank-you!!
